See I really like the story in FFXIV even with limited voice acting, though I agree they don't need all the cut-scenes they have. I'm almost level 60 and while the leveling is slow I'm still invested in it and I like the different options there are for leveling (main story quest, fates, and dungeons are my main go-to's). As someone who also plays WoW I would definitely recommend FFXIV for anyone who likes a good story and/or anyone new to MMOs since its pretty easy to pick up IMO, also the community is lovely!

I Still have the same Armor since 30 Levels in BD (I am Level 36, and with that very close to the current highest archived level of 59.78). Its Old, If it were to rust it certainly is rustry but it surely is trusty! (I mean i could buy those Legendary Armors on the Marketplace as i am even more filthy rich than last time i said that i am Filthy rich in that game but when you have the same set of armor since level 6 and it still protects you well, why change?)

The two biggest Problems of Wildstar was the abundant Number of Servers on Release and the 40 Player Raid. Atleast those are the things that killed the majority of the Playerbase, including my Guild in the first few Months.

I don't know much content about the other mmo's apart from Runescape, Runescape as a whole has been in free fall since 2007, that's when alot of players left the game this was the also the period where you could chat and actually socialize with others do free trades and go into Wilderness/ wildy and compete alot of others that what people enjoyed about Runescape was an end goal was to tank off aganist others via combat skills ( ranged, melee, and also maging).

Skip forward to 2017 now you have a client you have to download via their website where as you could play in browser before, G.E didn't exist you either had to find someone to trade with in hopes you didn't get scammed, The game is now nothing more than just click this and click that, grinding towards what exactly? ( in 2007 they had a player base of 500,000+ , now it's barely even a quarter of that at 150K with both RS3 and OSRS combined).- Alot of the vet/old players left and bots are infested in that game, that current concurent figure of the player base may or raise or fall, in saying that that combined total is including bots because their no way to actually detrimine the actual numbers of legitimate players.

I think in my opinon, when at lest I was playing we didn't have Iphones or mobile games at our finger tips, alot of players that hit number one in hi score from tks- ( year of 2001) to Zezima ( which everyone knows, – breifly passed by N0valife for 3 weeks) countless others like SUOMI, The Old Nite many others don't play anymore or moved with life and also for other reasons.

MMO in generally is fading not it''s own fault but cause of people just don't have the allocated time on their hands to put in work to build up account that either A) stay somewhat relivant to the updates and B) people grow up and move on.

Loved playing Runescape in year of 2006-2010 those were the good times, memories I never forgot sitting their in laughter for ages with mal pals now it's a shadow of it's former self lol.

Hey I used to play ESO. Now I think it's pure cancer because of my ex. I used to play World of Warcraft but after thousands of hours I now get bored. So now I play Black Desert Online and honestly. I prefer that game over ESO and WoW although I do miss good o' runescape

Black desert is truly one of the best mmos I've ever played and I've only had it for two weeks, the combat is fun and not repetitive as there are many different combos, whilst at liv 56 your whole class changes, and the p2w aspect of this is not really a big factor as all you can do is buy cosmetics and convenience items. But yeah people should give bdo a try before talking shit about it

i actually wonder why ..there are so many people who work on one project and everything has already been done before where is the creativity dont they have any ideas ?…they wouldnt even have to release it right away , just add it to the game as it is later on with expansions ….cant be that hard to realize.

    my dream mmorpg :
    – dragons prophet pet system
    – all the pets of dragons prophet and riders of icarus (and more O.o πŸ˜€ ) – just make it a modder like case where you can create them yourselves , the winner gets some actual money from the game developers and than they will be implemented into the game ? – hard to achieve so they can be bought and the developers make some money (besides skins and colors and stuff that you can buy if you dont want to farm them all- there are always people who do so , that works )
    – guild wars 2 like graphics just on a better engine
    – dark souls like combat(actual skill needed so that you can achieve better if you are better – not the flat layout so that every dummy gets what he wants ) + path of exile(the skill tree) like combined skill system / combat system
    – well yeah crafting jobs they all do quite ok
    – own base – maybe some minecraft like (just better graphics , more than one shaped block for more forms ) way to build it from sketch up – maybe they could make the whole world destructible (hasnt been done yet either) and randomly regenerate it (like if you were to do a new minecraft map ) every month or such with some fixed points (like towns / dungeons- maybe make them not fixed so you can have only those who spawn which makes it more interesting to come back into the game each month ) so you can actually get ham on the resources and random events like world bosses were able to destroy specific farming points maybe towns / dungeons ? so you would have to protect them if you want to keep access to it and the whole server gets together and if you loose you will have to wait a month till you can get what you want again ?
    – whats also really important …regions where you can solofarm , which get harder and harder the further you go (like i said i want my skill lvl stuff included) and so get a higher loot chance (so the skilled people can farm , the non skilled will either take longer or spent some money on "time skipping" ; regions where its worth to go at with a group(harder mobs , noticeable more loot (not better , MORE ! – so solo players can achieve the same , just need longer or need to be efficently good in skill)) . you will have to give everyone the same loot (if something drops everyone gets the loot or has his own roll per mob – like in guild wars 2 ) so you dont have to share everything thats only giving sad vibes when someone gets the rare item (even if its a fair roll ) and the others not . ok its getting complicated . what i mean is : you kill a mob with 4 people in a group which wouldnt (or only if really good equipped and with a higher time / skill) be killable in solo and when it gets killed EVERYONE can loot it – gets his own loot from the same mob (just a personal window) . general better loot in groups makes it more reasonable to play with other people and combine skills / debuffs on mobs etc etc which can be used in the combat / skill system again) . also really important , there have to be tons of mobs . if you are strong enough you should be bale to pull as many as it is to trigger your limit (i often see it in games where you can play in groups that you come into regions of your lvl , where you can kill all the mobs (accessible around you ) in the same time with just one person as you could with 4 (makes the grouping useless )
    – no gender or race locked classes # terra xd – for whatever reason would you do that ? let the people play what they want , you can have your sexy ecchi chara to watch on your won , if you play him . you dont need to trigger the world to be filled with boobs and asses . a good knight armor gets me horny too . shining metal :3
    – upping systems for loot (sword +15 etc etc ) + random rolls- which are STILL SPECIFIC for the item base aka you get random stats of crit/ad/attack speed/special effects like life steal or stuff which has a rare chance to be on an item) on a melee weapon but cant get useless int which ruins every other stat ( i know there are systems out there which are very very annoying but if its implemented in the right way , it makes a lot of fun to farm your perfect equip and to have space for progress so you can come back to mobs you couldnt kill once you get better equip ) . also some long time motivation in my opinion . also you can trade a lot better this way . no soul binding shit please . you can trade whatever you have whenever you want . its important too use random rolls because other wise you would be able to buy cheap stuff at low lvl and progress to fast because everyone above you has a better weapon already and doesent need the old stuff . if everything is random (and well balanced) , there will always be a better weapon than you have or a better armor peace or etc etc . you may have good equip but the mobs have such a large spectrum of difficulty that you can always get better …(endless circle like in diablo of getting better loot , having higher damage , killing harder mobs , getting better loot , etc etc )
    – no market place where you can compare prizes easily . only hand made shops (you can sit down and open a trading page with your items and prices and everyone can zip by and buy or not however he wants ) so you can actually play a bit with the trading – take a longer time to find smth cheap (from guys who dont want to sit around all day and instead farm ) or sell your stuff more expensive (if someone doesent want to search for his stuff all day and has a lot of money anyway) – together with the random loot and some luck on where to get someone who doesent know the market prices or the worth of his rare drop , always makes it entertaining to go shopping in the market districts πŸ˜€ ." last chaos" had that system in the good old days when skystones (himmelstein in german ) still only costed 600 gold xd . good old times . (game is no fun anymore – they killed it by making it to easy and stuff)

yeah thats generally it . you could speak about a lot of other detail but this is what i think is most important (and most often done wrong )
Ps im german so dont complain about my english + im think im gonna post this under some other mmorpg videos to spread my fantasies . maybe someone who has impact or needs ideas reads them T-T

With the possible exceptions of WOW and Elder Scrolls and maybe Wildstar every game on this list turned me off for one reason or another. Either too grindy or gets boring fast or has a bad business model. I think the MMO is dying a slow death. New ideas and a lot less greed is needed. But then as player bases shrink and developers get desperate I don't see that happening.
